We were very excited when we came back to kinder after the holidays to find that the Council had installed a new handpump. But there wasn’t any water coming out when we pumped it – we had to wait for the rain to fill our new tanks up as well.
And it did rain a couple of days ago so now we are using the water from the top of the roof to water our pots and to use in our sandpit cooking.
We hope that the handpump will help the children to see that water is precious – we need to look after every drop that we use, and to try to only use rainwater for our work at kinder.

Oh Louise I’m soooooo jealous. We would LOVE a pump at our kinder but so far haven’t got around to getting one. So much fun to be had by you guys … once those rains come that is!
