One of the exciting aspects of my visit to Aotearoa / New Zealand was the chance to learn more about the bicultural nature of their society and the education system. There was deep respect for Maori culture, wisdom and practices and the children were learning the songs, the values, the skills and the language of their first peoples in a range of ways. At St Andrews Epsom Early Learning Centre in Auckland, a delightfully personal and intimate centre tucked away behind a fence in a suburban street, I was welcomed formally by Shani at a Powhiri with the children. Thanks everyone!
And it was a pleasure to have you visit and to learn about your centre too!
Michelle, do you have a web address for anyone who might want to purchase the DVD featuring your and others art practices?
