Australian animals at kinder

Aden, Chloe X and Hollie, and then Evan and Ned helped Adam to hold Bubba the saltwater crocodile up and show their teeth.

The Wild Action Show was fantastic – all the children had so much to say about the animals and they remembered a lot about what had happened and the features that Adam had told them about. The specialness of our native animals leads very nicely into lots of aboriginal stories from the Dreamtime, and with Reconciliation Week we will have time to talk and think about lots of ways to be Australian.

  1. These photos brought a smile to my face. We had the same guys here last year for our prep through to secondary students and they were a great success.
I hope you dont mind me answering your question on flip video cameras here. I love my flip. It is always in my handbag, ready to take the expected and unexpected films. It has a little flip out plug that connects direct to your laptop or desktop computer and is very easy to download and edit. I worried about its robustness initially but after 12 months it is still intact.
In our school, we use Vegas Movie Studio and we need the latest edition of that to recognise the flip video format, if we wish to format and edit the movie further. However moviemaker recognizes the saved movie formats or do you have a mac. They are relatively cheap, so easy to use and operate and would be ideal in your situation. Our students all borrow the flips from the library now. The quality of the video is not A1, but it is great for computer and online use. Does this answer all your questions? I wrote a post on them so if you search for flip in the search button, it may come up with more information.

  2. Thanks, Murcha, thgat’s some of my questions answered – we don’t have a Mac or much money to spend on extras, so need to understand exactly what we can do with the basic camera and existing software before we step in and spend money – but we have to do something about replacing our trusty old video camera, which has been great but is cracking at the seams.
